Challenge

To design an invitation and graphics for a fundraising event to benefit New Orleans Hurricane Katrina disaster relief efforts.

Solution

I researched imagery related to New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina, including folk art, jazz, and images of flood damage. I combined these elements together, with images of a jazz marching band and abstract raindrops and rising water, rendered in textures of flood damaged walls and broad paint strokes. For the back side of the invitation I used imagery and typefaces inspired by whiskey bottles and New Orleans culture.
