Big Pagoda Company opened its first  
store in 1996 on San Francisco's hip and trendy Fillmore Street. Founded by Kurt Silver, who had spent his previous ten years in Asia, the store quickly built a following for its contemporary Asian-influenced furniture and the antique Chinese pieces that inspire it. San Francisco fell in love with Big Pagoda.
