The Farmers Market takes place at the Ferry Building in Downtown San Francisco at the base of Market Street on the Embarcadero.
Public access
The Ferry Building is one of the most easily accessed locations in the Bay Area. You can reach it by all BART lines, many MUNI lines, the F Market Streetcar, the California Street Cable Car line, and several ferry lines. From the Peninsula, ride Caltrain and connect with Muni's N-Judah. Find Bay Area transit information, maps, and schedules at www.transit.511.org.
- Bicycle Parking - The Embarcadero has a large bike lane and is easily accessed by bicycle. There are bike racks located in front of and behind the building - we recommend that you use a kryptonite U-lock as there have been incidents of cable-clipping! - Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) - The Embarcadero stop is just a block away!
- San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI) - Busses, trains, and streetcars all stop at or near the Ferry Building.
- Ferry Terminal - Terminals for Sausalito, Oakland, Alameda, Vallejo, and Larkspur ferries are behind the Ferry Building.
Valet parking rates
As locals and visitors know, parking in San Francisco can be challenging. In July 2008 parking by the Ferry Building was impacted by the sudden closure of Pier ½ Parking Lot. Since then we have been working with the Port of San Francisco on a long term solution for Ferry Building and mid-Embarcadero parking needs. During this Holiday Season we are testing extended valet parking services to assist those shoppers and visitors that require convenient adjacent parking. Valet will run 6 days a week Monday thru Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. along the curb in front of the Ferry Building. On Saturdays we will offer valet from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in front of Pier ½ - just north of the Ferry Building and from 3:30 p.m to 10 p.m., along the curb in front of the Ferry Building. The following rate structure applies:
Valet Validated Rates (available at Farmers Market Info Booth):
- $5 – first hour
- $13 – second hour
- $10 – each hour additional hour after the 2nd hour ($50 max)
- $13 – Flat Rate after 4 p.m.
- $50 – Lost ticket
Valet Non-Validated Rates:
- $8 – first hour
- $18 – second hour
- $10 – each hour additional hour after the 2nd hour ($50 max)
- $50 – Lost ticket
